Privacy Policy
Effective July 14, 2026
This policy explains how Yossi LLC ("Tabby," "we," "us") handles your information when you use the Tabby app and website. The short version: we collect what's needed to run an expense-splitting service, we don't sell your personal information, and we don't show ads.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from them.
- Content you add. Expenses, groups, notes, images, and messages you create in the app. Receipts you scan are processed to extract expense details.
- Device and usage information. App version, device type, crash reports, and analytics about how the app is used, so we can fix problems and improve the product.
- Permission-based data, only if you enable it:
- Contacts — read on your device to help you pick friends to invite. Your contact list stays on your device.
- Camera and photos — to scan receipts and invite QR codes.
- Approximate location — only while the Nearby screen is open, to find friends in the same room. It is not stored.
- Microphone — voice requests to the assistant are transcribed to text to fulfill your request.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: syncing your expenses, keeping shared balances accurate, and sending notifications you've enabled.
- To process subscriptions and verify purchases.
- To provide AI features: receipt images and assistant requests are processed by our AI service providers solely to deliver the feature to you.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, provide support, and improve the product.
How information is shared
- With people you share with. Tabby is a shared ledger — expenses, balances, and your display name are visible to members of your groups and friendships.
- With service providers that help us run Tabby — cloud hosting, AI processing, purchase and subscription management, analytics, and crash reporting — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing those services. Payments themselves are handled by Google Play or the App Store; we never see your full payment details.
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Tabby and its users.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, where your data remains protected by this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Data retention and deleting your account
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- By email: send a request to support@tabbyai.app from the email address on your account.
When you delete your account, your personal information (email, sign-in details, and personal data) is deleted. Because Tabby is a shared ledger, records of expenses you shared with others may retain a display name so the other members' records stay accurate — these records are no longer connected to a usable account. Limited data may be retained for a period where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, and residual copies clear from backups on a regular cycle.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously and limit access to what's needed to run the Service.
Children
Tabby is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can access and correct your information in the app, and delete it as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, correction, or deletion) under laws like the GDPR or CCPA — contact us at support@tabbyai.app and we'll honor applicable requests.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is material, we'll give reasonable notice (for example, in the app or by email). The effective date above always reflects the current version.
